My name is Roxanne Moore and I have recently been certified as a PraiseMoves® Instructor. Due to a back injury, and years of neglecting my body physically, Doctors told me that I needed to strengthen my core with exercise and physical therapy in order to avoid surgery in the future. I have personally experienced many physical benefits from PraiseMoves®.  These include lasting relief from chronic back pain, better posture, improved muscle tone, increased flexibility, and strength. Even more important than the physical benefits are the spiritual benefits that have come through PraiseMoves®. We focus on God’s Word and experience His love and grace as we transform our workout into worship. I would love for you to join me and experience the relaxing, uplifting, and Christ-centered benefits of these stretching and breathing techniques.

Transform your Workout into Worship™
with PraiseMoves®

Class looks like?
“Walkin’ Wisdom Warm-ups” are the way we begin each session. Our goal is to prepare the body for the PraiseMoves® workout. Muscles are warmed; circulation increases and spirits are energized. Participants move in place for 14 minutes to inspirational Christian music. We alternate gentle, easy steps and movements with diaphragmatic breathing – AND – recite scripture affirmations. For example, while “Jericho marching” the PraiseMoves®  leader proclaims the first few words from an encouraging scripture such as Ephesians 6:10,

Participants repeat,
 The leader finishes the sentence with,

 Participants repeat the phrase and  
are encouraged by God’s living promises!
PraiseMoves® Postures - participants are then guided through a series of gentle, effective yet challenging postures designed to increase flexibility and muscle strength.      
PraiseMoves®  postures are integrated with corresponding Bible scriptures. For example, during the standing posture “The Tree,” we consider Psalm 1:3.

He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Soothing classical music or instrumental worship music is played during the remainder of the session. Each stretching posture is held for three to five complete breaths while the PraiseMoves® leader recites the corresponding scripture. 
PraiseMoves® Scripture Sequences - After 20-30 postures (depending on length of class time), we perform one or two Scripture Sequences, such as “The Lord’s Prayer” or the 23rd Psalm. During Scripture Sequences, we gracefully “flow” from one posture to another as words to the scripture are recited. Movements correspond with the words being spoken, as our bodies are respectfully mirroring the beauty and life within God’s holy Word.   The classes end with WWJD Meditation and Relaxation cool down, relaxing in His Refuge.

*Cost is Free of Charge for all Living Hope Church members (10 years of age and up.)
*Members are welcome to give any monetary donation for this ministry if they feel so led.
*Members may also consider donating gently-used exercise mats, blocks,
or other materials, if they feel so led.
*Members may also donate time as baby-sitters for those with small children.
*Each PraiseMoves® participant and/or Parent or Guardian MUST sign a liability waiver! 
*PraiseMoves® Men are welcome!

*Cash Preferred but Credit accepted.  Please contact Roxanne if cost is a concern.

*What do I bring to class?

1.  H20 bottle
2.  Hand Towel
3.  Exercise Mat, if you have one.  
(Limited amounts of “borrow” exercise mats, blocks, and fitness balls,
are available for use, first come basis, or if you happen to forget yours.)

1.  Exercise Band if needed.
2.  Small pillow or towel for extra padding if needed.
3.  Exercise Block for added support if needed.
4.  Bible/Prayer Requests if needed.

*Please come early to sign-in and/or to sign a liability waiver (first timers).
